It's the 7th year running we have stayed at this particular cottage, and I've said it many times already in these 7 years that it's undoubtedly the best of all the cottages we've had the pleasure to stay at in Finland.
We arrived this evening at around 7.30pm after picking up Anna's folks at Lahti train station on our way north from Helsinki. It's a three hour drive from the airport to here and as we drove north the weather gradually got warmer, with the temperature sitting at a most pleasant 24.5c as we arrived and unpacked.
As always the owner Timo has made some small changes and improvements to the plot; this time we noticed quickly that there are new steps up to the sauna as well as a new mini barbecue to the front of the house. In addition there's been some work done on the stove at the hot-tub to fix the front of it which was a little rusty last year. It's hard to imagine a more beautiful house and setting, and with the forecast for the next week at least looking so good, there will be plenty opportunity for swimming and sunbathing!
